Top 10 Best Pickleball Bags Reviews
Assuming you have the perfect paddle and the right gear, the bag can be the ultimate addition for you to carry your equipment, but with so many great duffle bags, it might be hard to find the one that is ideal for you. After searching many stores and talking to many players, I found the top 10 pickleball bags that could help you:
1. Game On Pickleball Duffle Bag
The Game On Pickleball Duffle Bag is a small yet useful bag, designed with a spacious interior. It can carry around 4 pickleball paddles and a little more than a dozen of balls. It features a duffle bag design, making it perfect for storing in your motor vehicle when driving to the game location.
After using it for a while, the adjustable strapped appealed significantly, and it made it much easier to adjust if you are a shorter or taller individual. It enabled me to carry the bag comfortably around my shoulder, while still having access to all my belongings in the side pocket. Yes, it comes with an additional side pocket to keep your essential devices safe from the damage of all the hard items on the inside.
The most appealing part of this bag is undoubtedly the price. It is affordable, making it ideal for anyone to buy, even if you are a beginner or an occasional player. The only downside is the lack of a zipper for the side pocket, to keep your valuable belongings from being seen.
2. Wolfe Sports Pickleball Bag - Sling Bag
The Wolfe Sports Pickleball Bag is not only designed for pickleball. It is a sling bag, meaning it is a little smaller than the duffel bag design and can be carried on your back. While it is much smaller, it can still carry around two pickleball paddles and four balls for two players to enjoy a fun game without any hassles.
While not a high-end bag, I loved the fact that I could carry a water bottle in the additional mesh pocket without any real troubles. The bag is lightweight in general and features a built-in pocket for mobile devices to keep them safe as you are playing on the court. It is also available in multiple colors, making it ideal for anyone looking at a unique bag.
The price, in general, is not too high, but personally, I feel that the bag is a little small for the price. However, it is quite versatile, meaning that it can be used for more than just pickleball and you may carry the equipment for other sports in it as well. I would also like to advise you not to make the bag too heavy as the strapping is not very durable and might tear.
3. OutdoorMaster Sling Bag - Small Crossbody Backpack for Men & Women
OutdoorMaster is one of my favorite brands when it comes to doing things outdoors and taking on nature. While this bag is not primarily designed for pickleball, the OutdoorMaster Sling Bag is a small and stylish bag intended for multifunctional use.
While it only carries around four pickleball bats, the bag is durable and made of top quality polyester. It features a sling design for comfortable carry, and the additional anti-theft pocket keeps all your belongings safe. Much like the previous bag, I also found the additional mesh pocket perfect for my water bottle, and this keeps the items inside from becoming wet if your bottle should leak.
The bag is affordable when looking at the quality and the comfort of the strapping. It also features an ambidextrous design, accommodating both left and right-handed users. The built-in pocket might just be a little small for larger electronic devices like your tablet, and you might need to use the front pockets if you are taking any chords.
4. Franklin Sports Pickleball-X Elite Performance Sling Bag
The Franklin Sports Pickleball-X Elite Performance Sling Bag is the first high-end pickleball bag I had the opportunity to test. It is made specifically for pickleball and is considered the official bag for the US Pickleball Open.
The interior is quite spacious, and it is capable of carrying up to 6 pickleball paddles and around 40 balls if you are training and need to play with a couple. The strapping is padded to reduce the strain on your shoulder, and it can be adjusted to fit snug in the middle of your back with ease. It is also worth mentioning that the bag is virtually impervious to all weather conditions.
The price of the bag is a little higher, but if you are looking for the best quality, you need to be willing to pay for it. This bag is quite special, and I feel a real closeness to it. I would go as far as recommending it to any pickleball enthusiast.
5. Pickleball Marketplace Urban Sport Sling Backpack
The Pickleball Marketplace Urban Sport Sling Backpack is another high-end bag I had the opportunity to use for a day. While this did not give me enough time to check the durability, it is quite spacious and made from 600 Denier polyester with a PVC backing for even more protection.
It holds a couple of paddles, and while I only carried for, it could much easily have carried a few more and I believe six will be the limit, with an additional pocket for all your balls. My favorite part is the specially designed MP3 pocket, and it allows you to pull a chord through to listen to music while carrying the bag.
It does include a somewhat larger pocket for your mobile devices and personal belongings but does also command one of the highest prices you could pay for a bag like this. However, I do think it is extremely stylish and should also be effective for doing the job.
6. Amazin' Aces Premium Pickleball Backpack
The Amazin' Aces Premium Pickleball Backpack does what we have been longing for in an excellent pickleball bag for a long time. The ability to carry extra clothing and to store your shoes after a game. It moves the balls from the inside to the outside, also making the bag look a little more professional.
It carries up to 6 paddles, but this should vary depending on the amount of clothing you are taking along, and the built-in pocket is a little better and larger for carrying along things like your tablet. I found the insulated pocket an excellent benefit for keeping my snacks from breaking and cracking and allow myself to recharge in between games.
It is considered a high-end bag, and while I could not find any real drawbacks with this bag, the fact that the balls are on the outside does make them an easy target for theft. However, I would still highly recommend this bag for nay pickleball player.
7. Wolfe Sports Pickleball Sling Bag
The Wolfe Sports Pickleball Sling Bag is the high-end version we touched upon earlier. This multifunctional bag is not only designed for pickleball but thanks to the large interior, it makes the perfect bag for clothing as well.
It features a spacious interior, capable of carrying up to 4 different paddles and it allows the user to carry that additional water bottle for grabbing a quick drink to cool you down. I loved the fact that it contains multiple zippered pockets for carrying everything along and the MP3 makes it fun to listen to a few songs leading up to your game.
Since it is a high-end bag, it is somewhat expensive, but when comparing it to the cheaper version, this one will just help you to look a little more professional when playing. The biggest drawback I could find is the lack of durability on the zippers, and they do seem to break off after using the bag for a while.
8. Wolfe Professional Pickleball Backpack
By now it should be apparent to you that Wolfe Sports is one of my favorite brands and this is thanks to their overall quality. The Wolfe Professional Pickleball Backpack features a normal backpack-like design with an extremely spacious interior.
Not only is the bag useful for carrying you four paddles and 12 balls, but it can also be used for taking your clothing or hiking. I love the fact that now I can bring two water bottles and ensure I never run out of something to drink at a game. What makes this bag so unique is the multiple pockets that can each be used to hold a different valuable device.
This bag is the same price as the previous one, but it is much more functional and versatile to be used for more than just pickleball. This bag is the one I would recommend to outdoor enthusiasts who love to play pickleball.
9. Fila Ultimate Tennis with Shoe Pocket
While not primarily designed for pickleball, the Fila Ultimate Tennis with Shoe Pocket bag is made from high-quality nylon and while it can carry two tennis racquets, it could carry up to 8 pickleball paddles. With all the pockets, it also brings a ton of balls to ensure you never run out of them.
While it does not have outer water bottle pockets, it features a nice insulated pocket for keeping your cold drinks. I found this helpful for keeping my ie cold Gatorade ready in between games. Nevertheless, my favorite part of the bag is the additional shoe pocket, making it easier for you to carry along your shoes after each game.
Regarding the price, it is the most expensive bag on the list, but it is also the largest and should be perfect when it comes to needing versatility. I would recommend this bag for any racquet or paddles sport.
10. HEAD Tour Team Backpack Tennis Bag
HEAD is one of my favorite tennis brands, and it is also well-known worldwide. The HEAD Tour Team Backpack Tennis Bag comes in at the backend of our list, but it is perfect for pickleball as well. It is made from solid materials and features a comfortable backpack-like design.
It can carry two tennis racquet comfortably and leave some additional space for your shoes or perhaps even a jacket or another t-shirt. It includes two outer pockets as well, leaving you with a ton of space for storing your valuables.
While this is not a pickleball bag and might seem expensive, it is really affordable when compared to many other tennis bags. I would also recommend this bag to anyone who loves racquet sports and need something comfortable to carry around all the equipment.
Key Features to Consider When Buying the Best Pickleball Bag
Now that you have seen which bags I have tested and how I have found them to be, you might also be wondering which features I focused on. These features are the most important in my personal opinion, and with them, you will be ensured from having great value for your money:
The interior space these bags offer is critical and you will need to carry a couple of paddles and balls to each game and training event. The interior space also consists of the smaller pockets and the ability to keep your valuables safe while you are playing a game, and the bag is near the bench.
Pickleball bags are classified as sling bags, but occasionally, you might consider the duffel bag design for its additional spaciousness. The backpack design is quite versatile, and while I prefer it, it is much harder to reach your belongings than the sling bag design. I believe that the type of bag you choose will come down to your personal preference.
The materials are more of a secondary feature, and it also goes hand-in-hand with the overall durability of the bag. Nylon is a little more expensive, but much stronger, while polyester might also be quite durable and impervious to weather conditions. Personally, I will choose polyester for its lighter weight and slightly cheaper price tag.
The insulated pocket is an intricate feature many beginners will forget about. However, since it is quite important to stay loaded with energy, this pocket is ideal for all your snacks. Additionally, you will also need to look for mesh pockets on the outside for your water bottle as keeping it inside might wet everything if it is not fully sealed off.
Since the bag will be carried quite often, the strap should be looked at. Not only do I prefer having extra padding, but ventilation is also essential for allowing the sweat to evaporate comfortably. If you are considering a sling bag, having an ambidextrous strap (left and right-handed use) is always a benefit if your shoulder does tire out.
I also try to look for double stitched bags as this makes the bag much more durable and the straps will not fail or snap as they carry heavy loads.
Top 3 Pickleball Bag Brands to Look For
As with tennis, many brands specialize in pickleball only, and this can be extremely beneficial when looking for your first bag. If you don’t have a favorite brand yet, I would recommend and urge you to choose one of these brands for the quality and the value they bring to the table. Here are the top brands to look for when selecting a pickleball bag:
1. Wolfe Sports
Wolfe Sports is one of my personal favorites, and they cater to everyone. They have intermediate, beginner, and professional bags that should meet your needs. The thing that I love most about their bags is the quality of the materials and the durability. This means that you will always have a long-lasting bag.
2. Franklin Sports
As one of the original brands and the sponsor of the US Pickleball open, Franklin Sports are designing top-end bags for the best of players. The drawback is that their bags might be a little expensive, but they offer huge interior space. While I am no professional, I also find these bags to be stylish, and once you carry one, confidence seems to ooze out.
3. Game On
Game On is one of the brands I relied on heavily when starting out. They offer quality at affordable prices, and they have a wide variety of great bags. If you are a beginner and you are looking for something cheap, the Game On bags should be perfect for you to get into the game without spending too much before committing to the sport.
Pickleball Bags FAQs
With all this information, you might be ready to buy one, but since you might have some additional questions and you might not have the time to do the research, I have decided to find the most commonly asked ones. These questions are only related to the bags and not to the sport for the additional equipment you might be using or need:
Will a tennis bag work the same?
Personally, I prefer having the right bag for the sport, but after testing out a couple of tennis bags, they do seem to work the same. They offer you the benefit of carrying more stuff, and this could be perfect if you need to change clothing.
My biggest problem with tennis bags is the fact that they are too large and might become heavy. This could make them rather uncomfortable to carry.
Will a normal outdoor bag work?
To be honest, any bag will work, and the normal duffel bag can carry everything. However, these bags are unorganized, and your paddles might smash around and become damaged. The pickleball bags, especially the premium ones, are designed to protect your equipment. They also have smaller additional pockets for your clothing.
How many paddles should I fit in my bag?
This is another matter of personal opinion, and it will come down to the level you are playing at. Personally, I feel that going with less than 4 to a professional competition is a wrong decision. However, many of my friends have had much success by only carrying along their 2 main paddles and competing with that.
Does the weight of the bag matter?
I like keeping my bags lightweight and compact. It also means the bag is secure around your back of by your side and it does not tire you out when carrying it. Larger, heavier bags might not be ideal, but they do offer you the extra benefit of storage space that you might not have had for your clothing and your towels.
Should I buy a plain or stylish bag?
The better your bag looks, the more professional you look. They often say a game can be won off the field before it has even started and by looking like a professional player, you may strike fear into your opponents. However, since the budget is always a major concern, I would like to encourage you to find one in your budget level to start out with.
Which One Will You Choose?
Now that I have answered a couple of your questions, I would like to ask you which of these bags you will choose if you had to. Personally, Wolfe Sports is one of the best brands, but if you like another brand, I would like to know which one and why. Please drop a comment in the comment section, and I will check them out as well.
